Dave Abson

Dave Abson holds a professorship in Sustainable Resource Use at the Social-Ecological Systems Institute (SESI) within the School of Sustainability at Leuphana University in northern Germany. As an interdisciplinary sustainability scientist, he typically works at the interfaces between the natural and social sciences, with a focus on systems thinking and transformational change. In particular, Dave is interested in how to transform complex social-ecological systems towards a more sustainable future. Dave is currently the principal investigator on the ERC consolidator grant “Mainstreaming Social-Ecological sufficiency” (MaSES), that seeks to conceptualize and opperationalize the notion of social-ecological sufficiency in relation to planetary boundaries and household level consumption practices.
