Heike Schwermer
Heike Schwermer has a background in geography, fisheries science and transdisciplinary research. Using a social-ecological system perspective, Heike focuses on the small-scale fisheries system and its potential adaptation to climate change, overfishing and other stressors. Her research contributes mainly to the realms of re-think and re-structure. She has empirical research experience in coastal areas in Germany with a strong focus on the Baltic Sea. Through her many years of close collaboration with stakeholders, for example, from fisheries and nature conservation, Heike makes an important contribution to the interface between research and society in the Baltic Sea region.
