Tero Mustonen

Tero Mustonen is the founder of the Snowchange Cooperative, a Finland-based initiative active across the Arctic to restore ecosystems and uphold Indigenous and traditional knowledge essential to their resilience. He is also an environmental scientist and adjunct professor of geography at the University of Eastern Finland. Tero’s research focuses on the intersection of Indigenous and scientific knowledge systems, particularly in the context of Arctic ecosystems. He explores how traditional ecological knowledge can inform and enhance environmental science and governance. His work addresses historical power imbalances, advocating for respectful, community-led approaches to ecosystem management and climate resilience.
